Mimi Davenport, an accomplished artist, accepted the challenge to design and develop the site herself -- a truely courageous undertaking since it was her first experience in the Web development field. Davenport Films hired Earthrise Interactive to supply technical and design advice and to ensure that the final code met the strict standards of PBS Online. This cooperative approach allowed Davenport Films to control the creative process -- doing most of the work themselves -- while getting the help and advice that made the process and the site more efficient. The Willa site was a huge success, and the Davenports have since completely redesigned the Davenport Films site to "leverage" the hard work that they put into the smaller site for PBS.
