Websites can be fun and colorful! The ABCs of Athens is a gift to the children of Athens, Georgia from St. Mary's Health Care Systems, Inc.

Geared toward second graders, The ABCs of Athens uses photos and a web-based adaptation of the familiar children's book format to teach kids about the city of Athens.

The site includes games for kids to play, based on the information that they learn in the site.

Wordfind puzzles are already included. Crossword puzzles and a concentration-type matching game are planned.

Coloring pages are available for kids or teachers to print out. There is one page for each letter.

The coloring pages are mostly taken the coloring book, "A is for Athens," which was produced by the Athens Junior Assembly (now the Junior League of Athens) in 1969 or early 1970s. The text of the book is by Sally Wildmn and Betsy Teague; the illustrations are by Kaye Dillard; and the text was hand-printed by Shirley Hodges.
